Elemental Pet Vets (EPV) is now offering surgical services. To meet the most pressing needs of the pet owning and veterinary referral community in Freeville and surrounding areas EPV is focusing initially on cranial cruciate ligament injuries. Elemental Pet Vets will be providing tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) surgery for medium-sized to larger dog breeds and tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) for smaller dogs. Our plan is to create a canine knee center by integrating our numerous modalities of pain management and post-operative rehabilitation with surgery to ensure the most optimal outcomes for our patients.
Dr. Daniel Hoffmann is a board-certified surgeon with years of experience performing TPLO and TTA surgeries on dogs. He will be the head orthopedic surgeon at Elemental Pet Vets.
Dr. Curtis Dewey is also a board-certified surgeon and longtime resident of Ithaca, New York. He will be performing some of the knee surgeries while still devoting time to other areas of the practice (e.g., neurology, TCVM, rehabilitation, pain management).
Dr. Dewey is also a world-renowned veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon with decades of experience. EPV will soon be introducing neurosurgical procedures to the practice.
At Elemental Pet Vets, we are committed to excellence, and we intend to offer a comprehensive approach to achieving the best results with canine knee surgeries for cranial cruciate injuries. In addition to top-notch surgical expertise, we at Elemental Pet Vets have multimodal pain management and rehabilitation equipment and trained personnel to help ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Electroacupuncture, laser therapy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), therapeutic ultrasound, underwater treadmill, therapy pool-all these modalities are available to our knee surgery patients at the same location.
