Common conditions that result in a referral to a board-certified internist from a pet’s primary care veterinarian include diabetes, blood disorders, infections, digestive tract issues, hormone/endocrine or immune disorders, diseases of the kidney, liver, gallbladder, lungs, and urinary tracts.
